Weathering

It is a geological process of modification on a rock by the action of external geological agents. There are two types of Weathering: Physical and Machanical.

PHYSICAL

Frost weathering
Some cracks apears into the rock (frost weathering). It produces when the water passing  trough the  rocks and freezes, and when it happens, it increases the volume and set off the rock.

This is a good example of what happens in the process

Haloclasty
It occurs due to the accumulation of sea salt on the cracks of the rocks, after that, the water evaporate and the salt crystallized with the result of breaking the rock.

Thermoclasty
one a rock composed of various minerals , such as granite , heated and each material expands differently and there is tension between them occurs. the temperature difference creates different dilations.
